SOLD - 2012 TOYOTA TACOMA / 2015 FOUR WHEEL CAMPER FLEET FLATBED

2012 Toyota Tacoma SR5 4x4 with Custom Flatbed/2015 Four Wheel Camper Fleet Flat Bed

The setup was originally built by Main Line Overland and then later worked on by AT Overland to dial it into the perfect compact overland rig. I wanted to make sure it was ready for the next owner and have just had the extensive 90k service done. It’s also been detailed and is ready to be passed on to the next adventure. Let me know if you have any questions. Everything on the truck and camper is in working order. Willing to buy a plane ticket and drop off at PDX for the right buyer, can figure out the details.

The truck holds 30 gallons of gas with the aux tank. It gets about 10.5mpg so you can go 300+ miles between fill-ups.

Please check out the extensive list of upgrades below and let me know if you have any questions. I have a clean title in hand along with a ton of paperwork showing truck maintenance and also the original camper paperwork.

Capitol Toyota in Salem did the 90k service:
  • Replaced the air injection pumps and air switching valves (open recall)
  • Replaced spark plugs, air filter, adjusted everything to spec,
  • Cleaned and lubed the throttle body and ran a vehicle health check.

Nice rig! Where are you with the payload capacity? I was chatting with the guy at MULE the other day and he was steering us away from a Tacoma and towards a bigger truck but I am curious how it adds up with the flatbed and other mods. Thanks!

The camper weight stamp says 1070lbs when contains standard equipment (20gal h20, 20lbs propane, and 3.8 cubic ft fridge full). I've never weighed it but could possibly as I believe it's free in Oregon. The truck drives great though and stops well enough to never have felt unsafe. I believe a larger truck would always handle the weight better than a Tacoma, but with the size, it's hard to beat where it can take you.

Awesome. That's the dream rig right there. Are you selling because it's not suiting you for some reason? What kind of gas mileage do you get? Thanks

Nice combo. But the weight thing has me concerned....

Current FWC Fleet flatbed is 1045 dry weight. Seems like the older model is way lighter? 20 gallons of water is 225lb plus other stuff.....

What is the payload capacity on the Tacoma?

2020 Tacoma specs below. Most of us with Tacoma's are over weight with any of the slide in campers/flat beds. My 2017 Fleet shell is 900# dry. My Door sticker on my 2016 Tacoma access cab 4x4 TRD Off Road says never exceed 1150#. A Tacoma would need something like a RTT or AT topper to fit within the limits1594070999736.png. Sadly, to fit within legal loads I would need even more capacity than provided by a Tundra. The bottom line is that we are all responsible for our actions. With that said, manufacturers should not mount campers that are too heavy for the vehicles nor show pictures on their sites showing such campers on Tacoma's.

Just took these photos for you. I don't know why it would say it's lighter than the current camper, but also don't know why the stamp would lie. I've never had a problem with weight. Owned two Tacomas before this setup and honestly driving loads of cinder blocks from Home Depot felt heavier. This truck get compliments everywhere it goes and no one has asked me how it drives being a Tacoma in person.

It's been a dream and has been perfect for us. We just had a family emergency and won't be able to travel as we had planned. The truck gets around 10mpg and with the aux 12-gallon tank it's easy to get 300 miles between fills. We will be purchasing the same style setup once the dust settles and we get back to a place where we can get on with our adventures.

Was this one posted for sale in the Bay Are, CA a while back? GLWS!

Also, the late second gen Tacomas with access cab (like seller's) have a payload of I believe 1320 lbs. His flatbed/tray also might be lighter than the stock tacoma composite bed, which weighs around 250lbs

Yes, we purchased this from ontheroadhome a bit more than a year ago. We were making big plans to drive to Alaska this summer but had a devastating loss to the family late April. The truck was built by Mainline Overland and then worked on by AT Overland as well. Thanks for the info on the payload, and I do believe that the aluminum flatbed is lighter than the stock composite bed.

A fully loaded weight would be very helpful with the sale. Its become an important/touchy subject in the last couple years

They are available for around $7 at any truck stop with a CAT scale, which is most of the pilots, flying J's, etc...

Seems like getting this on a cat scale can answer a lot of weight questions...
