We are posting our 2016 Quadvan 4x4 Ford Transit Passenger van as we are considering going in a different direction. The van is a rather unique build out, but hopefully will work for certain folks (most likely families).
The van:
350 XLT Transit 12 seat passenger van - 80,000 miles
3.5l EcoBoost motor, 6 speed transmission.
Quadvan 4x4 conversion - this was put on last August and has probably 15,000 miles on it. It has been awesome in the snow and works like a charm.
Quadvan 2.25” lift - part of the conversion.
Goodyear Duratrac tires (245/70/r17)- have maybe 20,000 miles on them, great condition.
Ultra Motosports Toil wheels 17”

The buildout:
This is not a full buildout, as the passenger van buildout is limited by the side curtain airbags (which we wanted to keep). Our build emphasized the ability to fit a queen sized mattress and also seat up to 8 people in the van, in the factory seats, with air bag protection, if you needed to also use it as a people mover.
-Bed frame is built out of 80/20 aluminum with 37-38” of clearance for bikes and other things underneath. The whole bed can slide out of the van once the carpeted plywood that is the sleeping surface is removed (the plywood is held via wing nuts that can be removed by hand in a pinch)
-Will include Ikea foam queen size mattress, used for 2 nights
-The roof has had extra insulation added by Anytime Vans in Bellingham WA
-The roof also has a Maxxair fan installed by Anytime Vans that runs off a third battery mounted to the frame rails. Includes a remote.
-Webasto heater- that’s right HEAT - this heater has been great for us in the PNW putting out DRY HEAT. No more propane heaters that add moisture to the air. Heater was professionally installed by Anytime Vans. The heater sips fuel, even on nights in the single digits I am not sure we have ever used more than 1.5 gallons.
-3rd battery, fuse box, and volt meter all installed by Anytime Vans. The heater can run constantly for over 24 hours before the battery needs charging.
-Both front seats can swivel 180 degrees to face the back of the van. (Were installed before we bought the van, not sure the make)
-Strawfoot Handmade window insulation - these are magnetic for passenger vans and have been awesome. When you have that many windows, the insulation and privacy they add cannot be overstated. These are for all windows except the front driver, front passenger, and windshield, which we have made by WeatherTech (Strawfoot does make ones for these three windows, but as we already had the WeatherTech, we didn’t feel we needed new ones).
If you have made it this far you probably have figured out this is a unique build, made for what we needed, and a bit different from what the rest of the van market seems to have, so finding comparable vans on price is a bit hard. We are asking for $53,500 but are willing to entertain reasonable offers. Located about 30 miles east of Seattle.
