The tires have 1,500 miles and the camper has about 12 nights of sleeping. The truck and camper are in “like new” condition. The camper has an electric pop-up so you just push a button and in 10 seconds it is fully extended. You can sit inside without the pop-top in the up position. The pop-top has insulation, waterproof membrane and mesh on all the window opening for fresh air. Lastly, the camper batteries are connected to the truck alternator to be charged while driving.

Would you be willing to separate the camper? I’m local here in Bend.

Hi. I really want to sell both together. You are not the first to ask :)

My reasons are that:

1) there is a "proprietary" mount plate installed in the truck bed for the Supertramp camper (maybe you know about this).
2) the camper batteries are connected to the alternator for charging while driving.
3) the backup camera mounted on the camper is connected into the truck infotainment system.

All of these things would need to be "undone" which would cost money and not sure of any negative impact to my truck afterwards.

Let me know if you reconsider taking the truck also.

Best,
Darla

Makes sense, although easy to unwind and it might be easier to sell as separate items. I sent you a message with my mobile and happy to discuss further. We’re probably going to pull the trigger on something soon.

Hi Darla,

Just trying to help out as I just sold my truck with a Supertramp on top of it. If you still have the truck tailgate, it probably still has the factory backup camera installed. If you do not have the tailgate, I would definitely sell the combo as one piece and not split it. The mounting system is fairly easy to uninstall, but will leave holes in the bed accordingly. The wiring from the truck to the camper is probably the most "challenging", but this would be more on the buyer as you could simply "retire" the cabling and leave it hidden in place on the truck. The buyer of the camper is then in charge to get his own setup into place. For you - the seller - that part is not an issue. Maybe check with an off-road shop in your area so that you can offer both options. If you split it, I would sell the camper first, then the truck but once the camper is sold, the truck may attract a larger number of buyers. Best of luck with the sale.

Cheers,

Hey. Thanks for the input. It all makes sense. I do agree I'd have more buyers with the truck separate. I do have the tailgate still so that would not be an issue. I think mostly I'm concerned about the holes left in the truck bed. I'm not sure how a buyer for the truck would feel about that.

Not sure if you were able to sell your rig already. If properly treated for rust, the holes can be patched. I would not consider it too much of an issue if disclosed properly.
