Well, the liquidation continues with the sale of one of my favorite vehicles. I had a nice '07 Dodge PW with an aluminum UTE bed, but never saw double digits in the fuel milage! So, I sold it, and started the look for it's replacement, which is this particular truck. Short story- needs nothing, everything works as it should, has no rust, and has tons of extras and all systems base lined in the last 5k miles. Also, she has the manual 4x4 selector, so no annoying solenoids to crap out at the most inopportune times!!

The base line included flushing the cooling system, flushing the tranny, change oil in engine, T-case and diffs. New ball joints, service hubs and bearings. New fuel filter and then a new fuel tank and pump- then another fuel filter- now clean as a whistle!!

Next came new +4" BDS front springs, drop Pitman arm, new bushings and extended sway bar links. The rear got a 1" higher block (one piece of course), and new Fox shocks all around. Then brand new 37/12.50-16 ND IROKs with 37" spare tire mounted to the bed. Also, bed has a nice toolbox and 1 ton lift/crane- never worry about physically loading the RTT which can be mounted on the bed!! And the flatbed makes loading boats on the Yakima rack very easy!

Then to protect the front end, a Sterling brush bar and winch mount, with new Ironman 12k# winch. The interior was in very nice shape, but had the driver seat refoamed and new factory cover fitted. Carpets protected with heavy duty molded mats. Window surrounds got Weathertech visors all around. And to see- front and rear mounted LED light bars- each controlled separately! And an extra set wired for reverse... Also added integrated Tekonsha Prodigy brake controller.

No telling what all I am forgetting, but the truck was built on the best and most durable platform and set up to travel cross-country. I have done several thousand+ mile trips without the first issue. Current miles are aprox 173K. which is just getting going good for these 7.3's!! No rust southern truck! And now for the price/pics:

$19,950 as is, or:
Deduct $1k to delete the 37's and substitute new 35" A/T's.
Deduct $1250 to delete the winch, mount and brush bar.
Deduct $500 to delete the LED lights- wiring/switches to remain.

UPDATES:
-has new 4" MBRP exhaust

Brett, you're too kind!!

Fun truck for sure, and decent fuel mileage for a change.

Thanks for the kind words and endorsement. I have a Rover motor in Denver area to retrieve at some point- perhaps we can actually grab a meal together?!

Bumping this because I purchased this truck last year and I am actually putting it up for sale. Selling because I couldn't pass up a deal on a new truck :sombrero:. I drove this truck from North Carolina to Bozeman (real hwy mpg ~17, hand calculated on 35's) and have literally parked it since then while prepping it for an overland camper build. It sits at 177k miles.

I have done a few things since purchase, and this thing is a solid rig. I am going to post up a proper for sale thread next week with photos and a write up, but figured I would get the word out with this ad.

  • Stretched the frame to 7.5'. Built to Ford chasis-builder spec and maintains the short-bed wheelbase.
  • Installed 7.5' aluminum UTE tray bed.
  • Sitting on 37" BFG Baja TA's on HMMWV beadlocks with less than 100 miles on them, ever. Full size spare, brand new. They dont rub anywhere.
  • Brand NEW Arb bumper installed.
  • 40 gallon excursion Aux fuel tank. Installed but not plumbed.
  • Brand new carpet kit.
  • Replaced valve cover gaskets, glow plugs and relay last week with Motorcraft Plugs and Stancor Monster Relay.
  • Installed bushwacker fender flares.
  • Have, but haven't installed: everything to plumb the aux fuel tank, A Dana 50 and sterling 10.5 axles geared to 4.88 with factory rear LSD and ARB front w/ compressor, a muffler because this thing is a little loud and a bigger transmission cooler.

I paid 16850 for it, looking to sell it pretty quick before the new truck gets here, will be listing it for 17.5k (for expo members) with everything I have for it, less the extra axles. Those are $500 and the air compressor is included. I have put quite a bit more than that into it in parts alone, its a really solid rig and I would not hesitate to take it to baja next week.

Note: I did have to do a little bit of work to dial it in, but it did end up in a much colder climate than NC. It needed glow plugs for cold starts, and had a slow leaking valve cover gasket. There are also some minor surface rust on some sections of the frame, as well as on part of the inner passenger fender. Overall I would say the truck is now in really good shape. Would love to see it go to a good home to an expo member rather than some kid on craigslist.
