THIS IS FINAL PRICE, we will not entertain nor accept less. Do not contact me unless you are seriously considering purchasing this vehicle.

I understand buyers will have questions about a vehicle with such a long story and I am more than happy to chat with you about the truck, but don’t reach out if you don’t have real intentions of following through with the purchase. I have been extremely transparent in the description of the FJ and if you contact me you can expect the same.

The owner (my brother) is now in Central California along with the vehicle.

2007 FJ Cruiser
5 speed automatic
177,XXX miles on Chassis
80,000 miles on engine (11,500 miles since rebuild)
(Explanation Below)

Registered and titled in New York
Currently in Central California

Posting this on behalf on my brother, written by him. Please read entire thread in detail.

I didn't think I would have such a hard time writing a post for this sale. I love this car. I've made it my own through the adventures I've had with it and the love I've put into it to get it back to the state it was in when I bought it. This thing hauls ass on the pavement. It's a beast Off-Road. And, oh my, it looks so damn good.

Purchased summer of last year from Phil Convissor in San Diego.
The vehicle rolled onto its side in summer 2018 in California on sand dunes. The roll crumpled the driver's side fender, front and rear doors and rear quarter panel. Engine was started too soon after getting it back upright which bent the engine rod. The steering rack, a ball joint and wheel bearings also broke. We towed the car to Toyota and repairs started right away.

Toyota's Repairs in California

New/Rebuilt (by LKQ) 6 cylinder 4.0 VV-TI. Rebuilt at 80,000 miles, purchased from Toyota. Covered with a warranty.
New steering rack
New driver side wheel bearings
New driver side ball joint

I have all the receipts for the repairs. Now the vehicle was operational, but still looked like a raisin.

Car shipped to New York City

Repairs done in NYC

New fender (tan)
New front and rear doors (yellow)
New driver's seat belt
Rear quarter panel pulled
Driver side re-wrapped by Phenominal Vinyl in NYC.

Now she looked like herself again.

I was worried after the roll that there would be issues popping up. But I have not had a single problem with this car since the roll-over. Not one problem. No lights, no noises, nothing. When I turn the key, it starts every single time. I have driven nearly 12,000 miles since the roll, commuting every day to school and back (1.5 hours a day) and I also did a cross-country from New York to California, the long way, which was nearly 6,000 miles in four weeks.

Touch ups you could do, but not necessary

There is still a dent on the driver's side roof which, from a head on view, makes the roof rack tilt. A little bit of the vinyl has chipped the driver door (hardly visible). A tire went flat on my most recent trip, so the spare is in use on the rear passenger side, while the flat tire is on the spare tire mount.

Not sure I understand the math behind the mileage, was it a used engine that was rebuilt and then tossed into the truck? Also does it have a salvage title or a clean title?

Engine was remanufactured at 80,000 miles by LKQ and sold by Toyota, my brother has put on about 12k miles since then so the engine has ~92k miles on it but only 12k since it was rebuilt and sold to us through Toyota. Car has a clean title.

Gotcha, thanks for the clarification.

Also curious about potential rust, as well as how the 4.88 gears do on the highway. Any insight? This might be worth a cross-country trip...

Truck is absolutely rust free. Lived it’s whole life in SoCal and Arizona.

4.88 gears change the whole vehicle, crazy torque and very quick for what it is. Aftermarket exhaust gives it great sound as well.
