**SOLD Ram 5500 Flatbed Camper - new pics interior **Price Dropped** & May sell parts

This is expo rig is nicknamed "Overkill". It is a 5500 truck with a camper that is designed to be placed on a one ton truck! Plenty of power and brake to tow a huge horse trailer, boat, you name it behind. Super single wheels improve off road traction and do exceptionally well in mud, snow, and sand. Top of the line Laramie leather interior with all of the amenities. It is registered as an RV in Montana. Clear, clean title and no accidents or issues. It has never towed anything and has not been taken off-roading, only a couple of forest roads. The camper has hardly been used.

Very nice setup. GLWS. Curious, what/how did you plug the AC hole when you removed it? Have pics of that?

I check with Northstar before attempting it and it turns out that the hole for the A/C is exactly the size of a standard roof vent. So I get a little more light and more ventilation when needed, and less weight on the lid (not that it really matters)

I just don't get out enough to justify this rig. I live in MT, have an office in VA and work in Latin America. My vacationing is very limited.

Dream rig. Wanted to buy this last time I saw it when we were thinking about going nomadic. Ended up with a corporate job instead.... seeing this again makes me question everything!

Good luck with the sale Dan.

@gaberelli - Thanks for the compliment. I too have one of those corporate jobs and it keeps getting in the way. I hope you noticed the price drop!

This is really nice dtruzinski. Price may be high, but who am I to say. I am sure you have far more than $86k into this... but I also know how much things depreciate, especially nice things like Laramie trucks! I would pay 86k for it though, if I had it :) I am looking actively for just a northstar hero for my truck.

I am tempted to see if there's any way you'd be willing to sell just the flatbed/camper but I am guessing you've been asked before and the answer is no. That being said, my current truck has a very nice 8'6" flatbed (C&M SS - http://cmtruckbeds.com/truck-beds/ss-truck-bed/). Would be tempted to ask if you'd want to meet up half way between Washington and Colorado at a shop, and have them switch our flatbeds and buy just the camper from you! Then you wouldn't be left bed less and could sell the truck with a bed that has a headache rack and stuff too (work truck). But I am guessing that wouldn't work for a lot of reasons.

Still... I can dream :) Meet in Twin Falls, Idaho? lol.

@adam88 - Yes 86K is a lot of money and far less than I invested in this; the price has some flexibility. However, I may be interested in selling the camper/flatbed. I sent you a PM. Let's chat later today. By the way, the truck is in Livingston, MT...little closer than CO.

@adam - the forum members should thank you. I have reassessed my sales strategy and am dropping the price to $80K. I am a motivated sell. In addition, I am willing to consider the sale of the camper, wheels and tires, and custom spare tire carrier. I will sell the wheels and tires only after the camper is sold or to the buyer of the camper. A new American Hero is priced at $30,675 (http://www.northstarcampers.com/online-catalog.php?headerbar=1&view=prods&parentId=15&catId=19). The Rickson wheels/tires with hitch mounted hand crank winch spare tire carrier was 6,600. If you are seriously interested PM me and we can see if this option is worth exploring.
