This thread got my thinking about the Montero as a replacement for our sold 3rd gen 4runner. I don't have any seat time in a Montero of any vintage, but I am curious if you have any opinions on yours versus the gen 3 models? If there is one area I would like to improve on the 4runner (other than space) it is comfort and speed off-road. It seems like IFS/IRS may be advantageous for me. At the same time I prefer the looks of the gen 2.5 and greater margin of error offered by locking differentials.
