Solution for glare from roof lights?

Why do you bother posting here if you are just going to be grumpy and passive aggressive? Upgrading headlights is just fine and I am sure people are interested in that option also, but light bars provide a different purpose than just upgraded headlights. That should be obvious. This forum doesn't encourage people the share as much when you get attitude on even simple topics such as lighting. Encourage people to share what they are doing and shut the hell up if you prefer something else, or state it in a nice way.

My rover has really nice projector headlights from the factory. (HSE Lux trim). And.. with this setup I don't have any issues that I know of... I even posted a picture showing how little light glare I have to make the point that it can be done without issues as several others have stated early in this thread. Move it back, make a shield... it all works nicely.

My post wasn't mean or rude. I certainly didn't use "shut the hell up" that for some reason you thought was appropriate. I put up my opinion which results in no glare on the hood is legal to use on public roads (which these light bars are not), no wind noise, no mounts, no wiring, no drag and it saves money. LEDs are bright but also produce a lot of glare and scattering light. Best thing for vision is to reduce glare and scattered light and the best way to do that is to use a properly focused housing which these bars don't do. On really dark roads good head lights and factory driving/fog lights while minimizing interior lighting will allow you to see plenty far for safe travel speeds at night.

Yeah - what he said. +1 lux.

I just stumbled on this old thread after fabbing up my own home brewed glare solution. I run mine mounted to my pop-up alaskan camper and ended up making mine tilt-able and was able to adjust it to keep almost 100% of any glare off the windshield and hood. Dust on the windshield is a non-issue now too.

That's a good solution. I'd like to build something very much like that, except it would be able to pivot up and act as a lens cover / shield when the lights are not in use.
