Ok here is the deal. I have been working for a year or so building an overland route through New Mexico in National Geographic Backroads 3D. The route is long, detailed and somewhat complicated. I finished it a few weeks back and was going to go try it in a few weeks when I realized I may have a problem.
Right now I have an older Magellan Sporttrak GPS and evidently I cannot upload detailed routes from the Nat Geo software. I must have a gps for this trip. Its over a 300 mile trip and covers way too much ground to carry printed topos. My first thought was I would just take my computer and run it as my gps but I cannot find any way to mount in my truck and still carry a passenger bc I have a 5 speed.
So I think I am in the market for a newer GPS. I don't have a ton to spend bc I have all my money wrapped up in the trip (Around $200).
I was looking at a PN-40 but will I have to rebuild the route in the delorme software??
Any suggestions?
