Some perks to living in Colorado again...

Like getting to ride in shorts in February. Damn, I'm not complaining about the mild winter weather along the front range! Right out our back door here in Evergreen we have the trailhead for the 3 Sisters trails system which seems pretty fun so far. I haven't moved my bikes out to Colorado yet but luckily my wife is tall and her bike fits me like a glove. Anyway, here's a few pics...

On the Ponderosa Loop, mostly clear but snowy in the woods a bit. Easy ridng though in the snow and not very deep.

Looks like fun.

Yeah, but I jinxed myself after posting this since it got colder and has been snowing, d'oh! I have to return back to the snow again next weekend and was hoping for a bit more sun and warm while I was home these two weeks. Oh well. How's the winter going in the homeland? You have any trips planned this spring?

Sounds like we are close. The family "cabin" is down by the lake; let me know when you're back in the area. It is nice that 3 sisters now effectively connects to Dedisse/Alderfer/Elephant Butte making lots of relatively unknown side access by foot/bike.

I've got a great round-tripper about Elk Meadow too if you're ever interested.

Wow, I didn't know this, sounds like fun. I started riding again this year at the age of 45, and quit a few pounds heavier. :sombrero:
Does the park service have maps of these routes?

I use to ride Elk Meadow back in the early to late ninties also, the only parking lot they had back then, was right off of Hwy 74.
Another great fun place to ride, just not on weekends.:bike_rider:
