Some Wagon Pics from Saturday - ETA: new wheels installed

Some pics from riding around on Saturday, looking for some good spots to fly my drone. Anxiously awaiting new rims, finally, arriving tomorrow. That's the plan anyways. A while back I bent one of my OEM rims and I had a hell of a time finding a replacement. I just couldn't spend over 500 bucks on a replacements without pulling the trigger on Saltas instead. So I have matte black AEV Salta wheels on the way.

The waterfall is on my family property in Alleghany County, Virginia, and the other pics were taken on top of Potts Mountain in the Shawvers Run Wilderness of the Jefferson National Forest. A little further down is where the infamous Potts Jeep Trail is located. It needs to be widened into the Potts Power Wagon Trail one day.

The drone footage is up on my youtube channel if you're interested in seeing it.

Must be real purdy in the spring.

I run the trim rings when not on a trip. I take them off for a trip, as it is tedious to take all the retaining bolts out in inclement weather in the dirt, and easy to lose a fastner to the environment. I had to buy extra hardware from AEV because of the stupid plastic washers.

I also take them off if the truck is going in for service - if you take it to stealership or tire shop, they will inevitably shove the wrong size hex key into their impact gun, probably pissed off at the extra time it takes to take them off, and will tear your ******** up. I've had to replace hardware and fix stripped threads on mine twice at different places before I learned that lesson.

Yeah, I think I'll just stick with getting some black lug nuts. Still looks good with the chrome ones, but now they're the only chrome on the truck. Next rotation. The trim rings do give it a better overall look I think, but I'm not gonna spend the extra time on it.

I thought about getting the Katlas, since it looks like they make them now with the same dimensions as the Salta (but maybe I was wrong about that).

BTW, I ordered these from Diesel Power Products and the turnaround was excellent. And you can pay with paypal. I was going to go through Offroad Power, but someone warned me it took several weeks. I think I got these in less than one.

I think you made a good choicde with the Saltas. The Katla's remind me of GM 1500 steel wheels...

Yeah, they probably look a lot better with 40s. I also looked at the Methods, but I can't stand the fake bead lock designs. Had Methods with those on my JKU and I just wish they would stop putting them on otherwise good looking wheels. Or at least make it an option.
