South African Expedition 4X4 Camping Trailer (Campa)

We are selling our Off-Road 4X4 Expedition Trailer built in South Africa for $6,000.00 US Dollars. It is presently located in Baja, Mexico. This is a quality trailer that will travel with ease to the most rugged and remote places/beaches in the world.

Our trailer was built in South Africa in 2002. It is an "ATT Stalker" and was imported to the US through Campa, USA. It was a "prototype" of sorts for the Campa ATT All Terrain trailers now being built in the United States. The Campa trailers are top of the line and you can easily get parts and accessories for this trailer through the great folks at Campa, USA. You can get tons of information and see lots of photos and videos of the Campa trailers at http://www.campausa.com/all-terrain-trailer-att/

We have seen numerous other off-road expedition trailers and in our opinion, the quality and craftsmanship of this stainless steel trailer simply cannot be matched by any other trailer we have seen on the US market today. When you get back to camp after a full day of adventuring in a remote location...and this trailer and tent awaits....it feels like total luxury. Cooking, showering and sleeping couldn't be better. And it goes to places you never dreamed you could take a camping trailer.

These trailers are expensive as you pay for the high quality. We believe our trailer is priced to sell. The tent like ours is a $4,000.00 option. Although we do not spend much time on the internet or surfing for used equipment, we do not believe that this is a trailer you often find "used". Maybe we are wrong on that point but we never see them in our travels.

A few highlights: Fully articulating hitch and surge brakes. This combination has proven superb in our off-road adventures. You can see a Campa off-road trailer like ours traversing the Rubicon Trail in this YouTube video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=99aqrZy_JAs

Huge, 2 room tent plus sleeping loft. Holds 50 gallons of water in two stainless tanks (or 25 gal water and 25 gal fuel - a slight more than in the USA built models). Oak galley/kitchen w/ all cookware, Partner Steel stove, on-board propane and on-demand hot water heater, shower, sink ....too many items to describe in this post. Again, the Campa website is very informative. We have outfitted our trailer to be functional and comfortable in relatively remote areas for weeks at a time. Everything works and works well.

Our trailer is presently located out of the elements in a secure garage in TODOS SANTOS, BAJA CALIFORNIA, SUR, MEXICO. It has been well used, well loved, and well cared for. It has a clear title and current Arizona, USA registration and tag and is ready to roll. If you drive down, we'll have your rig ready for you. The Baja adventure you have dreamed of awaits! (if you are interested...the Baja 1000 is set for November 17 thru 20th)

We have tons of information about our trailer that we can e-mail you and are happy to answer all your questions. We are sorry that we do not have very many actual photos...we are currently in the states and our trailer is in Baja. We do not tend to take photos on our adventures. The Campa USA site is the best place to see features and close-up photos. Our trailer is USED but is in clean, excellent, and ready to adventure condition. The only caution we would have regarding our trailer is that we tend to adventure in desert areas. This rig has not seen much ..okay "any" rain and therefore, although we have sealed the seams a few times in preparation, we cannot vouch for the tent in rain. That is the only "con" to this particular rig.

Please write to us for more info and/or to coordinate your Baja adventure (pick-up). Again, we believe we have priced this trailer very fairly and to sell it quickly.

PS: Regarding why we would sell this great trailer: we are traveling more and more on our dual sport BMW motorcycles and are riding for long periods of time. Rather than bring the trailer back up to the USA just to store it, we believe it is prudent for us to sell it in order to finance our motorcycle expeditions.

I have a photo to attach but am unable to accomplish posting it. As mentioned, I do not spend much time on the computer. I'm happy to e-mail to whoever requests it.

I've posted the trailer on craigslist and there is a photo of the trailer behind our FJ taken on our way down the Baja. We had stopped for a fresh juice :)

I'm headed back down in a couple of weeks and can take photos to e-mail to anyone interested. The CampaUSA website is loaded with detailed photos. Although ours was made in South Africa, it LOOKS just like the new ones made in USA. Our tent is the "CAMPA ATT Trailer Top Tent" and is number 4 of the 6 tents on their site under tent info http://www.campausa.com/tents/

The trailer is in Todos Santos, Baja

That seems to be the question most asked. We want to sell the trailer and I never thought it would be such a terrible thing for someone interested in it to "need" to go to Baja to pick it up and, of course, enjoy it a bit.

IF we cannot sell it from Baja, we think we will be bringing it back to the states in or around March and most likely, we'll still want to sell it. We are flexible folks and we also do not live much by "plans". The exception is that if we make a deal, it is a deal.

If we don't make a deal on the trailer, although bringing it back is our intention now, I can't honestly say what we'll be doing five months from now as circumstances, desires, and events usually dictate our flow forward. The trailer could go back to the states or stay in Mexico. It depends on what is happening in March and if there is no deal on it, I don't want to make any promises. I don't mean to sound like a flake, it just is what it is.

So...for now, the trailer is down there and we want to sell it from there. When I placed the ad here, I did so under the thought and hope that in a forum of folks that are into global expeditions, a trip to Baja wouldn't be a problem but rather an asset.

We have priced the trailer very reasonably in the hope that we could sell it quickly and we will continue to get the word out that it is for sale and see what happens.

Thank you for asking. I have a few photos to share via e-mail if anyone wants. I also have gone through the Campa USA website and compared the photos of the new ones to ours - if anyone is interested. Also, when I return to Mexico in a few weeks, I will take photos of the trailer and maybe someone can help me post them :).

With all due respect, the idea of sending someone a $6,000 check, and then driving 1,000 miles into Mexico to pick up a trailer which is supposed to be waiting in a garage in Todos Santos is quite a leap of faith.

Perfect Switch,

We have no intention of asking someone pay for the trailer sight-unseen and if you got that impression I am very sorry. We have had several very interested persons contact us and we are responding to all inquiries. We have never suggested anything so outrageous as you suggest. Luckily, the folks that have contacted us privately have all been realistic about the facts and we are working through obstacles on an individual basis. We are flexible and trustworthy sellers with numerous references. We also have first-hand knowledge of buying expensive used equipment from all over the world. We are wiling to work with anyone.
