I bought it basically new and fully refitted it as you see it this past winter. Took one awesome trip and am now wanting to buy a house sooo...its up for sale. Camper offered at $22,000, there’s more invested than asking, not to mention time. Truck is only for sale as a package. I love my F-150 and finding another built like it will be hard. The truck is $34,000 firm.
Stats:
Shell is 825lbs empty, guesstimate is approx 1100lbs.
I’m 6’1” and have about 1.5-2” above my head for standing room.
Double rear door opening like a Sprinter Van, which is as awesome as it sounds.
Storage: custom built cabinets, steel frame, bottom hinge opening doors (quick shelf space) with sweet recycled bike chain retainers, beetle kill 1/4” plywood back, sides, dividers, and cabinet floor. It has c-channel track all over to you can load and tie down from every conceivable angle.
Counter top: 1 1/2” finished butcher block workbench top, full 6’ long, trimmed off about 3” to make the back splash. High grade stainless Zuhne deep sink, Dickinson Marine stainless drop in propane stove top.
Power system: All routed through a Blue Sea Systems fuse block and uses a 7 pin trailer connector to keep the deep cycle AGM battery charged up. Battery is tucked behind the sink with a quick disconnect at the battery and a main power off switch at the fuse panel. LED lighting, above the fuse panel is a volt gauge to monitor things, USB chargers for your phones and whatnot, and a 12v socket style charge port. I also have a 1200w inverter thats not currently hooked up becuase the truck has 2 110v outputs but inverter is included in sale. No need for solar complications, it runs for days on the AGM batt and charges quickly off the truck. Simplicity is your friend.
Heater: also Dickinson Marine the Newport P9000 cranks out 4500BTU and will run about 40hrs on high on the 11lb tank. Also included is a backup 5lb mini tank “just in case.” I camped in a blizzard up at Crater Lake last winter in subzero temps and while I wasn’t in a t-shirt, it wasn’t cold either.
Camper is insulated behind the wood paneling with 1” Owens Corning poly-iso board and carpeted in the cabover. Also has power roof vent that is reversible. Floor has 3/4” plywood sandwiched between the fiberglass and I have plans for more insulation that I’m happy to share.
Bed: initially set up in the cabover, and just didn’t work. There was enough length but you could barely roll over. Since gear storage is always what seems to lack in campers, I converted it to a storable bunk system and dedicated the entire cabover to storage of gear, bedding, and water. Works like a charm and you have full floor access without stepping over gear. Mattress is an IKEA folding memory foam that also stows in the cabover. I also have an Xped Megamat Duo that I’ll throw in but you get to find the pin hole leak. There is about 12” between the end of the bed and the rear door to be able to stand and exit without opening (late night exit to pee or whatever)
Seating/dining: Lagun stowable pedestal table mount with Acacia end-cut butcher block top for the table. Forward bench folds up against the front wall for easy access to coolers or whatever is underneath. Side bench extends the full length to the door. Benches and bunk flooring are beetlekill pine.
Water system: not fully refined but works great. I used brewers stainless steel quick connects on 4 gal jugs, beverage tubing, and a Whale foot pump with a stainless swivel faucet. Makes it super easy to fill water and to conserve. I’ve found electric pumps just blow through water too quickly. Fun fact, with the jug mounted up in the cabover you get a gravity fed siphon effect anyway, basically like having a pump but you get great pressure when you use the foot pump. Gray water is a super fancy Home Depot Homer bucket. Fill it, carry it out and empty it. Again, simplicity is your friend. Also included is a Coleman Hotwater shower system.
Layout: I set it up to have maximum use of the camper floor space. If you’ve ever been in a truck camper, they all feel cramped. This thing is downright roomy. I wanted to have space enough to have at least 2 bikes inside and still move around if necessary. There’s also space for at least 3-4 pairs of skis that hang beneath the cabinet and side bench (off the floor). Storage is always at a premium and you have a ton of it. We traveled with all our gear for biking and skiing, 2 bikes, 3 pairs of skis, food, water, regular clothes, and two dogs. Yes it was a little tight and also worked just fine. Do that in your Four Wheel pop-up.
Camper also comes with 4 Titan jacks for easy on/off loading and a rolling dolly for storage when not in use.
Stats on the truck if truly interested in the combo:
2018 F150 XLT loaded with 302A lux package: navigation, heated seats, e-locker rear diff, sport package, tow package, & 36gal tank (almost 700 mile range). “Leadfoot Gray” color is 2018 only. Bought as a CPO with 2042 miles on it, now has 56,xxx. It has the 5.0 V8 and 10speed auto. Gets about 19avg, 14mpg w camper. Has two sets of wheels/tires: nearly new set of Cooper studless snows on factory 18” wheels and summer set on 2018 Raptor 17” wheels with near new Falken Wildpeak’s at almost 34” (285-75). Also has 2018 Raptor steering wheel with functioning paddle shifters, nearly new Fox 2.0 coil overs up front and Fox 2.5” reservior shocks with RSC dampening adjustment and Firestone airbags for the camper. Also included is a flip back hard top tonneau cover, 2 pop-out side steps in front of rear wheels and a left rear bed step that pops out.
Ask any questions you can think of. Everywhere you go someone will stop you to talk about it, take pictures of it while you drive by, and tell you how awesome that it is.
