Spare on front??

Back in the day I had an F 100, oversized tires with a spare off the front bumper.

It use to be more common to see trucks with a front spare, then there are VW's and VW van/busses with a front spare.

I'd bet fewer girls would pull out in front of you in traffic if this was coming their way.

However, IMO, most brush guard, grill guard stuff is just for show and is basically trash, in accidents I've seen them pushed in causing more damage than there would have been without the guard.

Now, add a wheel and tire, het a good size deer at 60 and what happens?

Nice lol I wonder how hard it would be to close the cab

Over the years I have seen this done on a few Canters.
My greatest concern with this setup is not restricted airflow, but rather the additional weight it adds to the front of the truck.
The front axle load is very minimal on these Fusos (2600kg pre 2010 and 2800kg post 2010), so it is very easy to exceed that if you are not careful.

That's slick, but I think I would have put the spare along with lockable boxes behind the cab and moved that travel trailer back a foot extending the bed.

Agreed. It seems appropriate to put that weight between the axles. Hanging them behind the rear or front axle does appear wrong. However, I need to weigh both axles prior to really knowing.

I changed a spare and fixed a flat on an Army 5 ton, an inner tire at that, so I understand the weight issue.

I'd go with ^^^^ system before a front bumper mount.

Not to spook anyone, but a front mounted wheel/tire could be crushed back into the hood or cab, you might not be able to open it up at all, much less quickly, and if that crash punched the electrical system, you could have a fire that you couldn't get to. Pooof!

I did it and so far so good. Probably close to my front axle rating. Need to get it weighed again. I used a Wilco hitch mount that I reinforced. It swings out when I need to access the cab. If it does not work and it’s too heavy I can just move it to the rear hitch.
