Spare tire options for trailer

Sorry about my trailers but you asked for pics about how to fix a spare wheel onto a trailer.
Sometimes the bonnet will do. :)

:sombrero: I used a jeep jk spare tire carrier and mounted it on the rear of my Tentrax-

It's not exactly the same tire as the jeep, but close and reduces tongue weight-cantilever

why not measure your tongue weight then temporarily hang a tire from the back and check the weight - should settle any questions in that department and give some peace of mind about your decision.

Yeah I'm not too worried about that aspect of it. More just looking for mounting locations/solutions.

like many here, my trailer runs the same tires and wheels as my rig. 1 spare, tire patch kit.

Of course I'm not a studly adventurer that stays hundreds of miles from anything for weeks at a time.

Yep me too. Truck and trailer all match. However, I've been on trips where flats were common. One rig had multiple punctures that took out all 5 tires (including his spare). We were able to get plugs in 3 of them but he had to use the spare from another rig for the 4th tire. It's kinda like with anything else, prepare for the worst, hope for the best. I'd rather not find myself in a situation wishing I had an extra spare.

Mine is set up for a Jeep bur I'm sure you could find something that will work
I unbolted the stock tire carrier from our TJ and bolted it to th trailer with some minor reinforcing
I didn't read all th post. Sorry if this has been brought up

Check out comp4x4.com they have builder parts for tire swing mounting options. I used one of their mounting kits in conjunction with a spare tire swing off of a LoD bumper (bought off Craigslist) modified it slightly to fit. Works great and even has Gerry can holders. Check out my thread in the trailer section if you need pics.

PO of my m416 put a mount on the front of the bed of the trailer. It's been fine but now that I plan to go to LR rims a change is in order.

Very familiar with Comp4x4. I'm using two of their hinges for the dual swingouts on my Tacoma. I'm going a slightly different route with the hinges for the trailer I think. But it should work great.
