So one of these caught my eye over the xmas holiday in the metro Boston area:

http://www.supremecorp.com/supreme.php?page=product&product=42§ion=gallery&gallery=options
etc.
The one I saw was a big red service body mounted on a Ford SD 6.0L F450 Lariat 2WD in great condition.
Seller wanted $28k, then 26, 25, 22 and will talk etc. with no sale for 3-4 months or more. I think it eventually sold (to a guy from NYC?) for about 20. In retrospect I wish I'd bought it at xmas, for a cross-country move that's coming up this spring, but at the time I was gagging on various imperfections (6.0, DRLs, rear overhang, 2WD, and relatively flimsy box construction etc.) and couldn't pull the trigger.
Still I am still thinking about these Spartan service bodies. Interesting company that had been totally off my radar. They do custom units, could solve that departure angle problem, just need to apply cash right ;-) Curious for thoughts from people with more expertise than I have on the pros and cons of full-size chasis and service bodies.
