Spending Your First $2000 on Your Tacoma

I spent my first $2k for my 2013 Tacoma on....
OME lift.. The stock leaf springs couldn't hold all may camping gear for a 15 day trip without hitting the bump stops. I also haul lots of Redwood lumber and tools for work. The OME overload springs are wayyyyyy better than the stock ones. I've done 9,200 miles since purchasing the truck in July. Most of those miles are on partially graded dirt roads in Big Sur. My truck sees 85% dirt road, 15% paved. My only gripe about the OME leaf pack is the nonstop squeaking!!!! It's getting obnoxious! I also purchased a Leer topper off Tacomaworld, and new (to me) tires and wheels from the same site. All for $1800.

assuming that you really do have 2k burning a hole in your pocket and you have the gas for trips....

Tires and suspension, the stock tires suck bad. everybody knows the rear springs will eat it and both the TRD and SR5 shocks last less than a year

BFG all terrains, Bilstine 5100s and new rear springs (Wheelers) should almost fit in the budget.

and FYI 235 85 R16 are cheaper than the stock size of 247 75 R16 in BFGs. Of course I found that out after buying stock tires.....
