From the Yahoo "Sprintervan" group, some information about the fuel mileage recorded by owners during highway driving in their 2007/2008 Sprinters with 3.0L V6 diesel engine.

2008 Sprinter 2500 w/ Sportsmobile conversion: 17.3 mpg

2008 high roof 144 in wheelbase, lightly loaded: 20 mpg

2007 3500 170 in wheelbase: 18.5 mpg @ 65, 23 mpg @ 55

The Sprinters from 2002 through 2006 had a 2.7L 5 cylinder diesel engine. Many people reported this engine delivered fuel economy in the low to mid 20 mpg range.

I just drove 502 miles on 23.6 gallons in my 2006 Sprinter 140" low top. Mainly in-town driving. None (sadly) off road.

I HATE having to swipe my card twice (the pumps here are set to stop at $100. And with diesel at $5.09 ... ... well.)

I talked to a couple guys briefly in traffic this past week with a Sprinter/Sportmobile, they were just on their third tank of fuel. Said they were getting just over 20MPG on a tank that included going down to Yosemite and back to Reno.

I assume they have the new V6 as it appears NEW.
