Square Body Fender Trim

Lunchbox Lockers
I trimmed my front fenders yesterday. I've done several of these over the years. Back in the day the guys at the tire shop said this mod was good for as much tire clearance as a 3" lift. I don't know if that's true or not, I do know that I've had no issue with 33x12.50r15's on stock suspension with just this trim.

Currently running 285/75r16's on stock wheels and a 2" lift. I just ditched the sway bar and the tire clearance was kinda tight while turned sharp so out came the saw! I have done this with a port-a-band in the past but I used a battery powered sawzall for this trim. 14 TPI metal cutting blade. If you have one of the long blades it will be easier but I just had a standard length blade so that's what I used. I used a mini sledge hammer to pound the sharp edges back.

Here is the back of the front wheel well before the trim:

And after:

And the front of the wheel well before:

At each corner the bottom trim screw gets cut off. I drilled a new hole at the new bottom edge of the molding to secure it.

Most people will never notice that you've done this mod and it does noticeably increase clearance when the wheels are cut at full stuff.

Hope this helps somebody...
