Squeaky clean not stinky Keens!

Yep, people don't realize that the upper lining is neoprene and most washes don't work so well on it...the enzyme stuff I have for my paddling wetsuit works wonders.

Tell Cayman I'm sorry :)

Well I washed the darn things in a washing machine and used bleach and detergent. Now I wear socks with shorts cycling socks and with pants my standard wool socks. No more super stinky keen's.

Washing machine for me too. It's awesome. They're like a brand new pair each time they come out of the machine.

Hmm I dont seem to have this same problem! I guess my feet smell like flowers! :coffeedrink:

Yeah, neither do I. After about 75 hiking miles in my Keens, they still smell like cake. Literally. My room-mate actually hung them in front of the oscillating fan in the living room. He said, "Dude, your sandals smell like the cupcakes my mom used to make me when I was like, 8 man."

I mean, I thought one of the perks of buying Keens was that they smell like cake.

I tie rocks to mine and drown them (jk). They are horrible but with socks not so much, while I'm no promoter of sock and sandal combo it works for these. Otherwise I have to scrap the dead skin and dirt that collects in the grooves of the sole and my lord it smells something fierce.

All my Keens get the same smell. Sort of a dark chocolate aroma. Not bad, just different. They all get the same smell though.

Aaron,
It seems you and I are the only ones who haven't evolved properly like everone else. My Keens get distasteful in a hurry! In fact, I've made the exact decision... they've been down graded in my rotation into a jean/Keen & sock combo. Not too stylish, but it makes for an occasional comfy day.

... where is the "I think I'm going to puke" smiley?
This will have to do: :snorkel:

My wife says it smells like I have stepped in something but she is not sure what. Perhaps a mixture of K-9 feces, toxic ooze, and anunknown variable that when blended in my keen smells wonderful.

I've used this:

But I think they may be out of business now.

Mine are 3-4 years old and smell like dirty MMM. I'm having a hard time believing those that claim aromas of chocolate or flowers. :gunt:
