Stainless or Natural Aluminum Grill Choice

I've had the Partner 18" for about 3 years used it on the Desert floor of So Cal to 11,500 in the Sierras. Controls for simmer or high heat work well, but you will need to get use to - it's adjustment valves require minute movement for adjustment and it works off (I think) a 27 psi regulator vs. about 7 psi for others. Also flame is so pure it is difficult to see in bright sun light.

This is a fine piece and requires minimal amounts of propane compared to my camp chef and any others I have used. I however would not try to cook for 6 using this unit only. For larger group camping I take both the Partner and a dual burner large camp chef with grills, etc. to cook for up to 10 people and 20 gal propane.

Cooking 3 large meals per day for 2 people I can run about 4 weeks with the Partner on 5 gal.

The heat transferred to the frame of the stove is dependant on what utensil you have on the stove. i.e. If you put a griddle over the burners heat will deflect downward and the bottom will become very warm. If you only have to small pans, I have sat it on a plastic table. Best results are to always sit it on some small wood blocks to provide air flow under the unit and protect whatever it is sitting on.

Ok for an accurate test what would you like me to cook? Honestly if your not in a huge rush I will have results by Saturday I need to know what you'd like me to cook and I will give you my honest opinion. I could make my armpit protein which is a spin on Moroccan Chicken Recipe floating around here somewhere. I can cook it and then set the burners as low as possible to see what happens if a quick bubble continues than it might not be low enough if no bubbles are present it might be ok for simmering. I imagine you won't want to have to use spacers to control your heat so I'll leave that option out as it is a waste of fuel.

Hmmm, that sounds good Aaron.
Something that will adjust low enough to slow boil a nice rice dish. The fore mentioned chili simmering on a cold/cool day. That kinda stuff. And you are correct-I would not want to have to put a diffuser of sorts in to control temperature.

The weekend would be fine. I consider this a major purchase and want to be sure that it fills the needs.

I did see on Amazon where one review of the Burnton was not so good. Lack of flame adjustment was the complaint. Just the issue I/we are trying to avoid.

Thanks for the write up ins123. Sounds like the Partner might be the way to go. Your input and Aaron`s will help immensely.
