Steering Wheel Swap?

Has anyone swapped out an older steering wheel with a newer one, either from a newer van or another Ford model? My 2000 wheel is getting tired and I would rather upgrade to a better quality leather, etc. My biggest concern is that the airbag still work. Any info would be great.

I may try to pick up a newer F series wheel and see if the spline and wiring are comparable.

The new F-series steering wheels are totally different. The van has a splined steering shaft, the trucks have a hex steering shaft. Plus the clocksprings are way different. I've researched this swap a bit and it would be a lot of work and require some custom parts...that is, assuming the clocksprings could be swapped with little to no hassle. That could be a can of worms all by itself.

The steering wheel in the vans is virtually unchanged for many many years. Should be easy to find a direct replacement.
