Stereo Upgrade Issues...

There are things you can add on to the stock head unit to gain features like iPod, AUX and bluetooth to the stock setup. My infinity stereo quit so I'm on the lookout for a new one meanwhile i have to suffer with an Alpine. The infinity to get is the latest ones from the Gen 1 Outlander 2 din.

I have the OEM 1998 Infinity stereo head unit and amp from my Monty just sitting on a shelf. It worked fine when I pulled it out. Also the CD changer unit too. I also have the JVC unit that I replaced it with, and the new amp. The JVC has Bluetooth and external mic units. The amp is 1100watts, though I doubt that is the RMS number

To the OP, I think the original Infinity system is a 2 ohm system....but I wouldn't bet my life on that. It's just what I recall it being, without remembering why I recall that or where from.
