Sterling 10.25 vs 10.5 in E350 U-Joint conversion

So I have a lead on a Sterling 10.25 out of a 2002 F350 for a good price. I know Chris recommends a 10.5 out of a 05+ F350, but what would be the down side to building a 10.25 for my van? Any major fit issues other than spring perches?

I thought I'd read somewhere that they are basically the same axle.

As far as strength goes, they are very similar.

Personally, Id go '05+ and find one with the factory e-locker.

All Super Dutys '99+ (SRW) came with Sterling 10.5's. The 2005+ are 10.5 but have a wider track width than the 99-04's.
