Here's how I cleanly transport my Snow Peak Single BBQ Box.
1. Ordered an aluminum military surplus aviator's equipment box. The BBQ fits perfectly and has traveled without any scratching. All ash, if any that remains is totally contained in the box, also:

2. Sorry, but I covered the label:
3. To fill the small void, I pack: kid's gloves so my daughter can load charcoal, shish-kabob skewers, lighters, Poker, pepper & other secret seasonings, heavy pair of gloves, fire starter (purchased on a whim from Lowe's), grill scrubber
4. All packed, snugly:
After a 5200-mile, seven-state road trip this summer from Southern California to Montana & back, this grill was used almost daily for a month and was really DIRTY, so I'll also add my recommendation for a cleaning product, Carbon-off. I think I ordered this on line a while back, but it works great, and my grill is presentable once more:
Happy New Year!
