storage ideas

I have a 2 door '09 JK. I'm looking at building sort of a 'mini-expo' rig with it. Plan will be a trailer down the road, but with my wife in school, that will have to wait a bit.

First task is to add some lockable storage to the tub. I don't have the back seat in, so there is a fair bit of room. I'm thinking a box as high as the body sides, centered leaving enough room for a) jerry can mounts on both sides towards the rear or b) two jerry can mounts on one side. Option a) means easier loading of full cans but b) means an ~8" wider box.

Opinions and advice will be appreciated!

I saw that post, actually that got me thinking that maybe a square tubing frame and a relatively light weight sheeting.....

I don't want to add more weight than needed, but want something that will last.

I've looked at those as well, not a bad price for a tuffy. I think I've settled on building my own, at least as much as I can - might have to find a fab shop.

Trying to decide on dimensions, etc. Also bracing, as it might be handy to be able to mount the cooler and water cans on top of the box.
