Stowing gear in your rig and why?

WOW!

Here's the rear of my truck fully packed to be out on the trail for a month.

FJ Cruisers are very small in comparison.
Even less cargo room than the 4Runner of the same year which is mounted to the same Prado chassis.

Totally agree Scott, that is one of the primary reasons I sold my rack and RTT. Besides, not only aerodynamics are affected, but fuel economy, stability, security, underground parking, etc.

Out of curiosity, what did you move to? Ground tent? Trailer?

Admirable to say the least.

Seems a big issue is rear seat passengers; I also am usually traveling with 4 total, so the back seats are occupied. Could not agree more about containment, and so all the heavy stuff is under a custom shelf in the back of the disco. Anything on top of the shelf is tied down. I'm working on a plan to chop out the middle rear seat and fit an Engel or similar in that space (also a nice buffer between the kids!). Roof rack is for sale, and trailer is in progress...I'll try to find some pics of it packed, but lately I'm having trouble linking pics anyway...great thread!

Now I sleep inside my 73. With the passenger seat (left) moved forward and reclined forward and an extension (doubles as working platform on the two AO drawers), I have more than enough space to sleep.

The tire manufactures max pressure are for cold pressure. They take into account the pressure increasing as you drive. You just do not want to exceed the weight rating or pressure for the tire or vehicle.

Stand corrected, Thanks Frenchie!

Looks very spacious to me and what I live in for 2-3 months, downright luxurious! Nice rig!
