What is a good study guide for the Ham Radio test?

If you just want your license you can just take practice tests over and over. Many sites have them, I preferred this one http://www.eham.net/exams/

If you prefer to actually understand stuff get the ARRL Ham Radio License Manual second edition. I still go back over the book on occasion.

This is the one I used. http://www.w5yi.org/catalog_details.php?pid=69&sort=4 And good for you wanting to understand not just pass the test. Go for General too. It's not too tough. I've had issues getting the Extra though. Unless you are an electrical engineer it's a little tougher.

It shows you the theory then starts hitting you with questions, any you miss come back again and again until you get it right consistently. Definitely worth the money if you are starting from scratch like I was.

I used the Technician License Course book by Stu Turner. Lots of good Ham test info on his site at hamradioschool.com
I passed my test with ease using his book. Good Luck

Great resource when I recently took my general test. I'll be picking up his book for the amateur extra test.
