Yeah I thought so at first too but once you start using it you find uses for the accessories :chef:

And those middle 2 pieces between the grill and lid are really just 1 piece thats included, flat on one side griddle on the other and they are showing it in both configurations so..

I also have a folding 2 burner Partner Stove that I split into two single burner stoves........ definitely rugged!

Hi Dennis,
I'm considering that Partner two burner stove. How easy is it to use as a single burner stove when split? Does it need two hoses/tank connections when you are using both burners? Also, it looks like the propane hose connection(s) comes out the front, which seems to make no sense and be a major trip/yank off the table hazard -- is that rally the case, or am I way off base?
Thanks,
Jeff

The Gas One dual fuel stove is nice and comes with a carrying case. I have one of these:

I have a Stansport version of that from a few years back and I love it. It has never failed to light on the first twist of the wrist, and the super-easy light makes getting coffee going 1st thing in the morning much easier. It also has better heat control that some of the other camp stoves, so I don't have to work so hard to avoid burning my eggs.

Thanks for that. It is really hard to find a high quality single burner propane stove. I'm not interested in another butane stove; I already have one at my cabin for emergencies. It seems the Gas One and Stansport are no longer available, but I found this one that seems like a decent option, though I'm concerned about the cheapness factor...

My preference would be a Partner, but that would mean using half of the detachable folding two burner, but in effect I'd be paying almost $300 for the one burner I need :(

The Amazon reviews are pretty bad.

What could go wrong?

Hey Jeff-
When split each burner requires a hose and fuel source..... you could rig up a Y-type hose I guess to use both at the same time.
I turn the stove sideways so the hose connection and adjustment knob is on the side.
I only use one burner..... gave the other burner to a friend..... definitely a rugged single burner stove!

The other option for a single-burner propane solution is one of the (many) that is meant to be threaded onto a 1-lb bottle. I like to use bulk tanks and wanted a more stable platform than balancing on top of the bottle, so I cut a hole in an aluminum plate and have a removable mount on the side of my chuck box:

I don't typically carry a "tree", and I like having two different fuel types (for redundancy), so I use this little chuckbox burner most of the time, and use the butane burner when I need a 2nd one or when the propane is being used to run the skottle or big turkey-fryer burner.

Try calling Partner Steel directly, they've accommodated special requests for me in the past. Half a stove should be no problem.

A big thanks for the responses and suggestions everyone!

I emailed Partner a while ago and they gave me the info I need on using just one burner. Just yesterday I asked them about a custom order for one burner, so I will see what they say.

@Herbie, that is a great idea. I might look into something like that as an alternative. I have been thinking about how to rig a single burner that I can clamp onto a table or trailer fender. One thought was to get something like this, cut off the fabric, drill vertical holes in the frame, and use bolts and wing nuts to attach a stove. It folds flat, is light and compact, and should be fairly strong.

I might even use it with a Partner stove...

Can anyone find a flaws in that plan that I have overlooked? Thanks in advance.
