anyone had any experience with sundowner camper as an off road type camper. Im looking for a fairly comprehensive off road type. something I can stand up in and has a shower and a head. doesnt have to be an extreme offroad. somthing I can boon dock in and wont fall apart after travel down a washboard rough road. Im not sure about these beefed up winnebago, nash, airstream with (off road tires) and others similar. I know there are a lot of manufactures out there. This is rather confusing. usually if I like it it out of my price range.

Welcome to the 'hood. You asked a great question and I bet it has been answered before so try doing a search. However, your order is rather extensive : tall + wet bath+ offroad+ good quality doesn't exists in USA. So, my guess is you're SOL because your pocket book may not open up enough to import one from Australia or South Africa. There are one or two manufacturer that are out of Aust or SA but have their units assembled in China before shipping over the pond, where final assembly takes place at the port. This is just my opinion from reading the various threads on this board.

Yep , I know ,SOL. I’m familiar with the two you’ve alluded to. Haven’t seen one up close but read some nightmarish reviews. Thanks

Maybe an Escape 17B with axle lift and upgrades.
The cupboard doors won't stay closed and it's only a step above standard aka Forest River or Thor quality as far as interior goes.
They do have tubular steel frames instead of C channel like R-POD or Winnebago Drop. Molded fiberglass body is better than big caulking seams as well.
But low hanging fresh tank lines, low hanging dump valves.

You could do that in the low 30s USD and then make some mods
