Super budget trailer ideas? I know there's runaway...

So several of my overland fellas are pulling Runaway trailers- very affordable. Basically a climate controlled box to sleep in. I'd like something very similar but they only have 4 and 6 foot widths. I think 5x8 is the right size for me. Plus I would love to have a rear galley area which those don't do. Are there any sub $15,000 tear drops that will get the job done? I love Beans and Escapods, but I'm not spending $40k+ on a tear drop. I don't need all the gucci, just a little air conditioner. I can do my own solar and power. I don't even want running water- a plastic sink, 5 gallon container and a 12v pump is good 'nuff.

I'm tempted to maybe try to build my own- but I doubt my wood working skills, especially bending plywood.

Do it for the 'gram
Buy a 5x8 cargo trailer, lift it, put a cot in it, enjoy.

"Climate control" will be... relative, but that'll be about as minimal and affordable as it gets.

I have thought about that. I'm quite handy- so I could insulate it, roof AC, I already have a Honda 2000. Then I could build out the solar/battery/inverter system. I can't be rolling around on little 14" trailer wheels though. Maybe but a beefy 45 degree drop Dexter axle in it and 30's?

I did just about all that and more a little while back: https://eatsleepwoof.com/blog/cargo-trailer-conversion

Caution: it's super easy to spend a ridiculous amount of money on this project. I was nearly $20k CAD into parts and materials, not counting the trailer itself.

Suggest making a list of all parts and materials you plan to use, figure out prices, consider your time, and whether the end result will be worth it. Might work out in your favour if you really do keep it simple.
