Super Siphon – How do you store it after use?

Cabrito

I come in Peace
So after reading many posts and threads about leaky fill spouts on almost all types of gas cans I have decided that the Super Siphon is the way to go! I own one but am wondering what folks do with it after it’s been used.
How does one store it wile on a road trip?

I keep mine stored in a heavy duty one-gallon sized ziplock freezer bag, kept in my bag of tools and other random stuff in the back. I've had it for 2+ years, used it 4 or 5 times and it is still in great shape.

I used mine for the first time the other day and was pretty disappointed with the preformance.

I think my main problem was that i did store it coiled and the open end wouldnt suck from the bottom of the Scepter can.

Yep. They can be a little ornery when they have been coiled and it's cold. Fine in Summer though. I keep the one in my shop hanging straight up for cold weather use.

Otherwise, most of our trips are in warm weather. Spin it clean, coil and place in heavy ziplock. Works great!

I love Expo! 30 minutes before I logged on I was in the garage pondering this exact same question.

Stop reading my mind Cabrito! :D

We have one and it works great. Just whip it around like im getting ready to rope a cow to dry it out then roll it up and stuff it in my drawer. Never a problem. Never used it in any really cold climate.

I just let it hang up for a while after use and then store it in the rear drawer of the 4runner. Coiled up with a zip tie around it.
I don't even own a spout for my gas cans. It does such a good job of getting the last drop out. (just make sure to tilt the can or it will never get going again.) learned that one the hard way.

I always threw it in the yard if I used it at home and let it dry out.

On the trail I throw it up on the roof rack under the spare tire until it's dry. I stick a q-tip in the end of it to keep the ball from rattling around.

First off, I would say I love the siphon. It's sooo much easier to use the siphon then pulling a 5 gallon can off the rack.

After use, I coil it up and put it in the action packer. It doesn't smell too bad, but of coarse "I love the smell of napalm in the morning" :sombrero:

Me too, coil it up and keep it in a StormCase.

I use one for water at times too. I sharpee the middle of the hose with "H20"

Just used mine for the 1st time!

Super siphon works as advertised! I was surprised at how quickly it emptied my 20l Scepter can. Let it sit and air dry for a bit and then into a 1 gallon ziplock with the extension.

I love it when a product really does what you expect it to! :jump:

I've used one for 4 yrs to siphon diesel from my jerry cans. Great product - when done, spin it in the air, and store it in a ziploc bag.
