Suspension Seats for a 2010 Taco

I do a lot of cross country driving on highway, and a lot of higher speed driving on b-roads (25-50mph). I am interested in getting a pair of suspension seats for the taco, to reduce vibration and give overall better back support on 15+ hour days/ multi day trips behind the wheel. The problem is that I hate the Baja style. They just dont seem practical for an everyday driver. I've never seen one with adjustable lumbar support, and they are also pretty stout and look like they would crowd the cab a bit. I have looked around online and I keep coming to the same problem-- a lack of first hand accounts... I want to talk with someone who uses the seat as I would; in a daily driver or overland/expedition truck... not a trophy truck.

Anyone swapped seats before? Anyone have suspension seats and want to give their 2 cents about the process?

Any input would be appreciated.

Try and see if the seats out of a Lexus LS400, 430, or 460 will bolt in. I know the seats in an LS 400 and 430 are very comfortable, but I don't have any seat time in a LS 460. The reason I mention this is that the seats are very comfortable and not as wide as the ones in my Tundra, so they may not crowd the interior. I actually prefer the seating position of my Tundra to be as or more comfortable than the Lexus and light years above a Tacoma.

I did a 8,000 mile/30 day trip in the Tundra and then hopped in the LS 430 the next day and drove from Ohio to NYC and back in the same day (Things you will do for family) and actually preferred the seating comfort of the Tundra better than the Lexus, the Lexus is superior on fuel mileage (30 mpg hwy), ride quality and almost no noise intrusion into the cabin.

I have done some extensive driving across North America as the only driver:
-Fairbanks,Alaska-Ohio in 84 hours total with sleep.
-Dallas-NYC non-stop after working a full day 3x's
-NYC-Dallas non-stop

Thanks for the suggestion. I hadnt thought of a seat swap. I will look into this.

Have you considered the Corbeau Baja XP? Looking at the measurements, it's not much wider than their Forza or FX1, and that's only in the lower/leg area. They're the same width in the shoulders and not terrible looking seats. I have no experience with suspension seats, or racing seats in a truck at all, so I can't comment on daily driving with them.

Edit: Corbeau also does optional inflatable lumbar support for around $50.

I am going to see if you can take any of their seats and throw them on a suspension mount... perhaps?

I forgot to mention that the seats in the Lexus feel like they have an internal suspension of some sort. I'm not familiar with the other seats you are talking about.

This is a really cool idea. Are you absolutely sure they will bolt right up to the existing mounting holes?

I'm sure you will have to modify the mounting brackets to fit. Also look into Land Cruiser/LX seats. My old Tacoma/4Runner seats got to me after a few hours of driving (legs going numb, sore bottom, etc.). In my LC, I feel very comfortable after 10+ hours.
