This is a cross post from the Land Cruiser section, but I thought some might find the idea useful. I've looked at a lot of rack options and this fits the bill perfectly for strength and ease of installation. Surly there are more deals like this lingering around. From another post:

So, I'm at the hardware store looking for racking or fencing to make something temporarily when I spy a four wing wire mesh display sitting near the dumpster. Long story short they GAVE it to me - and it had all the right hardware to make it work easily. A little time with the bolt cutters and some spray can bed liner and Voila! I have a barrier for about $20 in materials and fasteners. It is VERY securely locked in and should serve the needs of keeping gear off the pup when out and about.
