Suzuki Equator (magazine) builds

There are two Suzuki Equator project trucks in two different magazines.

In the April 2009 issue of the 4wheel & off road magazine there is part one of their project Equator build.
The suspension setup that was installed was ICON coilovers, Total Chaos UCA's, ICON rear shocks, and Deaver mini pack.
The interesting part was the rims. No real mention except for the source is Race Line Wheels. Can't tell from the picture if they are 16's or 17's but look like beadLocks rims.

OFFROAD magazine April 2009 has "project two face" equator. They went with a Titan swap from PRG in the front with SAW coilovers and a full Deaver pack.
I was a little surprise they were able to fit 33's with a titan swap.

I was a little surprise they were able to fit 33's with a titan swap.

With some creative fender well trimming, we were able to fit BFG ATKO 285/75R16 tires.

Likin' it!:victory:

I was disappointed that Suzuki didn't have the Equator at the Providence auto show. Just a base model Grand Vitara and an Sx4. When are they going to bring back the Jimny(Samurai)?:(

That is really cool. I love how it's a long travel kit w/ OEM Titan parts. I like the Suzuki front end a lot too. I think I would go for the Equator over the Frontier just for that :) but the Fronty looks cool too

interesting that it only has 6" travel and upgraded to 8"
The stock Tacoma has 8+" of travel and if you disco the swaybar as they did w/ the Suzuki, it's got a bit more useable uptravel as well.

Better in person

I was leaving the school today and a black RMZ-4 was parked behind the building. I didn't have a chance to run over and  on it because I was conversing with my cooperating teacher, but I got a good enough look to say the pictures don't do it justice. It is one good looking truck!

i personally think the Equator looks cleaner than the Frontier. Petersons threw front bumper on the truck in the last issue too
