hey all - looking at my first non-car. camping and mountain biking with an 06 mitsu evo is possible but not ideal (does get you TO the sites proper quick =).

anyhow wanted to see if anyone here had intel on current / future suzuki parts availability. looking at an 01 vitara. checking rockauto and others it looks like pretty much everything is available but always good to hear a little btdt. anyone have challenges getting their suzook serviced?

thanks!

By law they have to supply parts up until 2023. Mitsubishi took over the Suzuki service, you might have to wait a few weeks because some parts are back order.

Uhhhhh

Anyway, yes, by law they have to provide parts through to the end of the vehicles warranty. In the case of The Kizashi and SX4 that would be 2023. His 01 Vitara? They could shut it down tomorrow and have zero repercussions. That said, ASMC has been very good about getting parts out of Japan and keeping stuff in stock (so far) as long as they can make money off it. In the US Suzuki is still providing parts through their dealer network (well, those of use that stayed on) Not sure about Canada, but I can't see Mitsubishi taking over the network as they really did not have much collaboration... Are you sure it's not that your local Mitsubishi dealer also happens to be a Suzuki dealer? There is a Ford dealer in town that still sells Isuzu parts from when they were an Isuzu dealer, that doesn't mean that Ford took over providing service for Isuzu.

That must be just that then, it just happens the places I know who service Suzuki are mitsubishi dealer.

Yeah, for some reason it seems that a lot of Mitsu dealers took on Suzuki as well

We carry Mitsu and another (former) Mitsu dealer in the area also had Suzuki for awhile too

For parts availability I would not be very worried. Need a tan B pillar cover? You might be SOL. Even if it can be ordered, it's probably stupidly overpriced anyway. That's the only thing that would keep me from a Suzuki, some of the parts are just stupidly overpriced. From a dealers perspective we don't get much mark up either (some stuff is only 30% from net to MSRP) Kind of hard to be able to offer wholesale discounts when you end up selling almost at cost.

I've got a 1995 Suzuki Sidekick and have zero problems with parts outside of unique stuff that most places wouldn't have anyways (ancillary items like switches, door handles, etc.).
