Swapped rigs! 2002 Yukon XL 8.1

Larry you and I are cut from the same cloth I think. I just ditched the 4L60 in my Tahoe last winter. I bought a parts truck with an NV4500, rebuilt it and stuck it in my Tahoe. One of the best things I've ever done to the truck. When I went out wheeling after the swap I really liked the additional control I had over the truck. For the record the NV4500 swap was the 6th manual swap I've done, I HATE automatics LOL.

Seriously though, for what you likely sold your Cummins for vs what you paid for the Yukon, just drive the 8.1 with as light a foot as you can muster. It is what it is.
