Tacoma build

Hi everyone. I've done lots of camping and what some could consider overlanding in the past, and now get to venture on my own. I'm going to have a go at building out my Tacoma so I can continue my travels around this beautiful world we have. I'm starting fresh with my 2011 trusty, always there for me Taco, "Roy".

I know I'll need modifications to the suspension and stuff, that will come in time. Right now, I'm getting the bones together and then I'll see what all I'll be needing mechanically. I'm glad to have this forum as a great reference tool. It may take awhile for me to complete, but hey, the sooner I start, the sooner I'll be done and out about.

It was hard to find a decent shell inside my budget, but somehow, I made it happen. Ideally, it would match the truck and maybe one day, that'll happen, but for now, I'll stick with the color. A few things that need fixed and it'll be perfect.

Welcome to the Dumping-Way-Too-Much-Money-Into-A-Tacoma club! What types of trips are you expecting to do?
Thank you, and yes, I know exactly what I'm in for. :) I've been mostly around AZ and a little of CA. I'd like to see what the Pacific Northwest has to offer. And anything along the way for now.

Absolutely! It gets the job done for now. And yes, the wheels are pretty bad. Once I get to a point where they need the changing, that will definitely happen. I'm loving the truck, stock and all. It's getting me to the places I've needed to go so far. It's going to be nice to really use it for what it's going to be.

Well, I've been a little busy making a sleeping platform. I saw someone else had used plywood and it looked like a good idea to me. Three horizontal carpeted pieces and two stands. There's plenty of storage below for my kitchen and truck stuff.

The only thing, it's a little cramped sitting up. I can do it but it's not very comfy. It'll work for those early nights to bed. I think I'll work on a flip cover for the toilet. It's a work in progress.

Might want to look into having the shell wrapped. Might be cheaper.
