Yeah my 4Runner has it and I've found that it really is only usefull for starting the truck W/O getting in to push the clutch in... I can't see a single reason WHY this would not be advisable. Seems to me, using the starter to "Bump" the truck is alot harder on it then just NOT depressing a little switch (wich is all the Clutch Start function is, it's a lettle switch like the one that turns out the light in your fridge.)
I will say I finnaly had the chance to start the truck with the clutch engaged... my Preassure plate broke, my master cylinder was shot and my Clutch fork also went... I gotta say that I don't think I'd do that too much. Seems like a good way to wear out the starter gear (or does the starter have THAT much mech. advantage over the motor)
As has been stated above, these things are used to protectr the manu. from the LOWEST COMMON DENOMENATOR, namely those who drive through their living rooms and DON'T know how to opperate a vehicle to begin with.
