tacoma vs 4runner for expo rig

Well I have had both. I had my 01' Tacoma for about 3yrs and was an awsome rig. My current 00' 4Runner is built pretty much like the Tacoma but my reason for the swap was more seating and also having all of my stuff under one roof. I miss the longer wheelbase of the Tacoma for climbing stuff but that short wheelbase of the runner is sure nice in tight spots. If they made the double cab in a 5spd in the early body style that would have been my choice but that is just me.

Now you do. :D 2 4Runners and now my Tacoma. It's a 4dr to accommodate my family.

+1

I sold my 1st gen 4Runner to get my 05 Double Cab. It has its tradeoffs though. The 4Runner was a much more capable wheeler since it was SASed, got better mileage and better low-end grunt than the Taco, but the Taco has better creature comforts and ease of entry/exit for the kids/wife since it is about a foot closer to the ground. :D

As far as sleeping platform, I am 6'4" and I couldn't have fit in either without emptying the entire truck of its contents. It's not really worth the trouble for me.
