Tailgate LED strips?

So I have seen others who have added LED strip to their tailgate glass. I would like more light for camping. Prep. Etc. what brand or model have you used or suggest. My fear is I will get one that is to bright so a dimmable one is preferred.

I just bought the white cutable strips with the 3M adhesive off Amazon. I think they were $15 or something and I've done lots of stuff with them, you can solder leads on at all of the cut points.

IMHO, dimmable would be a waste of money. They are barely visible during day, and just right at night.

I've got more money tied up in a switch, switch mount, and wire than in the LED strip.

It is one of the best things I've done lately though.

I Mounted one of these in the plastic housing for the rear wiper motor so that when I have the glass open it points down onto the bumper. It creates plenty of light to see in to the back and use my tailgate table without needing a headlamp or flashlight. I ran the wire to the light the same route as the wiper motor and had it exit the hard top into a water proof connector and it looks like a factory wiring harness connector so if I take the hardtop off, I just unplug it just like the wiper motor and dome lights.

Well I was given a amazon gift card from work so I used it to buy a led light and a switch. My question is how do I wire this? I would like to do it the same as the $100 setup that uses battery. So I need to get the battery holder which has two wires. Do I need to get a relay or anything to connect it all? I wire all my own stuff on the jeep just fine but I have never used a battery setup like this. I'm trying to mirror the $100 setup since this was all free.

It looks like the Amazon part runs on 12V so no battery is needed. Just wire it into the Jeep's power through a switch.

i got a 15 feet led strip from Lowes, and cut 4 strips to put all around the rear glass. they light enough to use the tailgate table.

i wired them to a switch on the subwoofer relocator box i made some time ago. and i used a harness to disconnect them if i want to remove the top.
