Taking a chance on an old truck

El Gringo Spectacular!
I'm a little disappointed you're not reporting from somewhere in Mexico in this rig...I mean...you checked the fluids and put new tires on it; what more do you need?

Tim and Kelsey get lost..
Probably hantavirus.
You should have taken the opportunity to upgrade to tires more reliable than your average KTM.

I find that if you don't run into everything, they hold up okay. :truck: You should try these:

Is it good when the truck decides where to steer? I assume it's just the truck telling me to head for Baja and not worn out rod ends. :coffeedrink:
If only someone had a truck like mine to head to Baja with..... .... ...oh, the good ol days.

Awesome read so far! I love to hear the interesting stories about how old trucks come to us. Subscribed...:ylsmoke:

Sorry, I didn't take my camera with me. A pristine '77 FJ40 was in camp with us. Yep, the one the kid got as a wedding gift. That forest green color. His mother drove it to camp and home. I suppose she still remembers how to drive a stick.
Good luck with yours. About the only problem friends had with them was the brake booster going out and cooking a couple valves due to the air leak so you might want to check it out.

What could go wrong?
See ya in Bagdad on the 17th? :sombrero:

You got it Pard! My calendar is all blacked out from the 17th to the 30th!
My 28-year-old daughter's birthday is on the 24th.........I've missed most of her birthdays because of deer season, but she says it's OK if I bring home venison!
