Technical question

Hi, I replaced my p/s pump on Thursday night on my 01 D2, it all went perfect until I was tightening up the bolts on the pulley and one snapped off. I ran the car around the block and everything worked great, very quiet.

Over night I felt guilty about the bolt(I was going to leave it that way), and in the morning I pulled the pump again, fixed the bolt and put it back together. The pump worked for about 5 minutes and then it quit working at idle, anything above 1200 it works fine.

This was a rebuilt pump from THE PARTS BIN, $209 vs $400.

Any ideas, thanks, Cristian

I thought about air in the system, and I'll try bleeding it out tomorrow, looks like there is a bleeder on top of the steering box, but I would think that after 2 days of driving it it would have bled itself. Fluid level is fine.

Thanks for the replies.

Hey guys thanks for the help, I got it done tonight, no wonder they put a bleeder on top of the box. Turned the car on , open the bleeder with a length of hose from the box to the resrvoir, and a ton of air came out.
