First off, Let me introduce myself. I am Jon. I moved to Penn about a year ago from Texas where I have lived for 20 years. (I am 21) I originally lived in South Texas and never had to experience snow or ice or any cold crap. Most of my wheeling was minor just as a basic means to get to the fish and places to camp. I have never been interested in rock crawling or mudding so my build will represent that. I like to practice moderation in my wheeling and not make stupid choices. Most stupid choices lead to damage and injury! Enough babble, here is my rig.

2004 Toyota Tacoma Prerunner SR5 V6 Texas Edition. Right now it is in fairly stock configuration but I hope to change that! I purchesed it used 2 years ago with 99k on the clock and I am about to turn over 145k. Never had a lick of issue with it. It is only 2wd and I do plan on keeping it that way, I understand that I will not be able to do high level trails or those with mud but that is fine with me, my main emphasis is spending time in nature and with my fiance!

Here is the list of modifictions in order of importance (in my mind):

Light Tube Bumper with 9k Warn and Many Lights
5100s / 881s
Locker (Need Advice):coffee:
Dual Battery Setup
Roof Rack with lights
Sliders
Rear Tube Bumper with Swingout Spare ( to double as cooking table)
Tires, Right now I have GTRadial Adventuros and I am quite happy with them, depending on the milage I get out of them I might keep buying them!

I have a light weight aluminum cap that is in the process of being reinforced for the roof rack! I have the basics already, axe, shovel, and such. I am hoping to move to Marietta, OK in the next year so I can start wheeling North Texas! More pictures will be up as modifications progress.

P.S. Anyone selling anything I might be interested in please hit me up, I love buying things! :wings:

Welcome! Nice truck sounds like you have some good plans. I grew up in Berwick and have lots of friends and family in the area. Check out the briggs farm blues fest. It is always a good time.

Thanks for the support guys, I need a bit of advice though. I have done reading and used the 'search' function but I am still stuck on a locker to install, should I install a stock locker from a trd or is it worth the money to purchese an ARB locker? Thanks guys! I am heading to Cabelas to load up on clothing today!

You can swap your axle for the 8" e-locker rear for a decent price. You'll have to look around, but more than likely you could complete the swap for less money than you'd pay for just the ARB itself. However, your current rear axle is beefier than the TRD, so that's something to think about. Sounds like for the offroading you're likely to be doing the TRD rearend will fit the bill, and I doubt you'd break it even under hard use.

BTW, I'll be looking out for your 4X4 conversion thread in the future. :coffeedrink:

Ha, I was all geared up to do it, then my uncle who has a shop, lift, all the tools, decided to move to Atlanta so I wouldnt of been able to do it without him, once he gets his new shop built I might load up the parts and drive down and knock it out!
