I have done a lot of motorcycle camping trips and one trick we used for this is a UCO Candle lantern. You can pick them up at Bass Pro, Gander Mountain, etc. The candles last 9 hours. Hang it from the roof of your tent when the sun goes down. It prevents the build up of condensation. You will be surprised the first time you try it.

You need better Ventilation, period.
This may not be readily apparent, but when you have a big tent, you fill it with more stuff (like wet or frozen gear). Just like you experienced higher than normal condensation with a thoroughly-soaked canvas tent, you can also expect higher moisture content by storing wet (or frozen) gear inside it.
