Tent Review: Malamoo Xtra by Oztent

Was reading a review on Amazon about this tent failing after less than two years with light use. UV damage. The review stated Oztent refused to honor their two year warranty as this was wear and tear damage. I have an 13 month old RV-5 that had the frame break during a winter camping trip in March in Michigan and Oztent refused to honor that warranty also. But they were more than happy to sell me $130 worth of parts to fix a tent (+ all the extra panels and fly) I spent almost $1500 on. Their setups are quick and easy and NOT made to last more than a few months at best. Just FYI for everyone thinking of purchasing something from Oztent.

I must have lucked out!

No issues with mine so far, used dozens of times in the last two years under the Texas sun.

There's plenty of folks with years and years on their Oztents that are holding up just fine, many in this forum. I'm sorry mandingo had a bad experience, but it seems like his experience is the exception and not the rule.

In general, beware of any tent that uses fiberglass poles.
