This tent appears to be exactly what we're looking for. The height is perfect! Any more than 8", and we probably would lose interest. I don't care if it means I have to take my pillows out, even though it probably wouldn't mean that. I am DONE with tents with covers, and have been eyeing hard shells for a bit. Then I saw a couple pics in posts from folks who went to Expo.

I realize this is a prototype, and I'm hoping to see width around 48", any wider and it begins to look too wide for a 4Runner. I would also like to see more windows, the new thing seems to be 360 or close. At least windows on the front half of the tent as well as the back half. Also, no-see-um screen on the outside, privacy cover on the inside.

Really liking what I see so far!

I couldn't have said it better. The covers get real old real fast, and my mpg is gunna love me!

As a tall person, I'm wondering what the overall length will be. Or if they will have sizing options like Autohome and James Baroud have.

Very interested and tuned for more!

I had a chance to see this RTT at Tepui in Soquel last week, as well as another interesting product. Not sure how secret that other one is supposed to be, so I'll be discreet, but since they showed this tent at Expo West, I'll say that it looked good. Similar in concept to some Baroud and Autohome models, some nice design details, and a useful form factor both folded and open. Don't pay attention to things like the weld quality ... it's definitely a prototype with no production-tooled parts visible, and I'm sure it will be comparable to the competition - or better- when it's ready for launch.

Update!

From the video. I wasn't sure if it was about mountain bikes or what lol. Should spent more time showing off the tent. Where the ladder is stored. Instead of $$ on a tiny solar panel. Maybe a place for the shoes. Price would probably be the same if made in China. Current RTT have huge mark ups

Hmm they show a couple throwing a sleeping bag into the tent after opening it. I'm sorry Tepui but for me the whole purpose of carrying around an RTT is to have bedding/pillows stored inside for quick camping setup. On that note, I mean actual thick sleeping bag/pillows, not some tiny cheap sleeping bag, as the last ARB mattress I had was about as comfortable as sleeping on the ground. Novel idea with the load bars, hopefully future owners dont' end up having stress cracks all over the shell down the road.

Cool to see another option on the market. However, I don't think I'll ever splurge on one at the costs of the hard shell RTT. I'm sure they are worth it in a 'round the world adventure. I have to agree with the post above but having a thin rooftop tent that doesn't allow the bedding to remain in place is a bit counter productive. It's the soft goods for bed that can eat up the most interior space.
