Testing dual alternators output individually?

Quick question,
How to test each of my alternators to make sure they are working correctly? (Output)
Vehicle is my 2001 Ford E350 with 7.3 PSD.

It appears my voltage is a little low these days...

Thanks!

Any videos (links) would be great!

Turning off field current on each disables output without hurting anything. Specific alt model, google for wiring diagram.

Do NOT disconnect output to battery while power is generated.

An auto elec shop should do this for free or very cheap.

Do not know about the 2001, but, my 1999 7.3 PSD ran 1 alternator at a time. The PCU "autioneered" the alternators, also, the alternators did not charge until some amount of time after starting. this had to do with glow plug survival and system voltage.
As far as turning one off, the small gauge wire to each alternator is the field wire. I have unhooked the field wire, output stopped, and the alternator was not damaged.

Reason for asking is this is tied into my 7622 which feeds my house batteries, quickly when working full tilt.

I'll dig into the field wire and learn some more, thanks!

Other than wiring in-line Voltmeters and/or ammeters, with diodes isolating each charging circuit from the other, I've got nothing.

Maybe you need to ask on some auto stereo hobby / competition forums, where dual alternators is a more common setup.

Maybe if you post a wiring idea / proposal you can draw in the roosting subforum "experts" so they can crap on the idea and tell you your ignorance will burn down your vehicle.
