Texas to Alaska to Texas. 2020 Honda Accord Hybrid driving on the Dalton Highway and the Dempster Highway. July/August 2023.

At the NWT border, a couple let their dogs out and one took off. They used their car to chase it but it ran further. They came back and the dog followed. They got out and the dog ran again. Their other dog tried to help but this stubborn dog ran further away. They brought back the obedient dog and chased the other dog until they got it and carried it back to their vehicle. The couple were driving separate vehicles with a dog in each vehicle. I met another couple who just wanted to see how the drone was performing.

Very good burger at Eagle Plains. I brought my own drink. I just asked for a cup of ice.

I sat here taking a break while I overheard these 3 guys at the bar talking about each other's solo rides across the country and giving each other suggestions on what scenic drives and routes to take. I thought they all rode here together but when they were going to bed, I realized each of them was on their own solo road trip on the Dempster.

Random stop at 2:00 am to stretch my legs and not fall asleep. While I passed so many vehicles all on the side of the road sleeping throughout the night.

I left Dawson City today for a 7-hour drive to Alaska. I enjoyed my stay in Dawson City a lot. It makes me wish I could visit again.

Some of my pictures from Dawsom City.

Make sure to go here to watch these girls dance. It is very entertaining. It is also a casino for those who want to gamble a bit. The entrance fee is about $15 US dollars for a pass for 1 full year. So I went for 2 nights and it was really great.

Too many Europeans shipping these over to tour Canada, America, and who knows where else. I saw way too many of these.

I saw this in line with a license plate from Switzerland with a great message on it.

I am finally home after my amazing road trip that saw me beat up my Accord very badly on the Dempster Highway. I am glad the Accord survived the Dempster. It was not easy. I feel sorry for her.

My car has 23,784 miles as of today.

I just changed my air and cabin filter and they were very dirty! The air filter was filthy! Look at the pictures. Why is Honda using oiled up air filter for the engine?

Another GREAT trip report with great stories and photos! thx!

How weird is it I followed two people going to Arctic Circle about the same time. The other being Brad Kowitz, aka TrailRecon. You almost certainly passed each other on the highway, you both went to most of the same stops.

Back in the day most manufacturer's used oiled filters. Honda still does on most of their engines. I used to have a honda lawnmower with one and my HOnda ATV uses an oiled filter as well. I guess if it works why change it?
