The Adventurer, All Purpose Build

2014 JKUR Copperhead. Figured I better start a build thread. This rig is being built for daily driving, camping, exploring scenic trails and to satisfy my need to personalize my Jeep after 22 years of various off-road vehicles. Over the next month, I will be adding a few parts in preparation for a trip to Ouray, CO.

Awesome rig! You are building your rig the exact same way I am building mine, daily driver, exploerer, all around rig that can get me anywhere.

I would run the full teraflex leveling kit if I were you. Make the jeep look so much better, and gives you the extra bit of clearance. I love how my jeep is with it. at a 130 bucks its a no brainer. And why would you go 16 or 18 when the wheels it has is 17s and look good.

Just not a fan of the Rubicon wheel. Going to sell the stock wheels and tires that have 6,000 miles on them. I was not able to locate 285/75-18 open country AT2 so I ordered 315/75-16 cooper st max today. I had a set of standard cooper ST on my 06 Tacoma that went 63,000 miles. Bumpers , sliders and fenders are at the powder Coater. Should go on next week. Mounted my Uniden 980SSB CB above the mirror today. Trying to find a single DIN radio that will fit with the cb in the stock radio hole. Will mount the Wilson 4' flex antenna when the rear bumper goes on. Also have a 9,500 smittybilt winch on the bench waiting for the bumper.

Working on cb tomorrow. Have a uniden 980 Ssb with A Wilson 4' flex, Wilson coax and Wilson heavy duty base. I am not back on duty until Thursday, so I will be working on recovery year and tool bag organization this week. I will be in Baltimore for work the last weekend of the month. Have to get everything squared away for Ouray.

Had a great trip to Ouray. I have all tools, recovery gear and first aid supplies in bags. Even with the bags strapped down, I did not like the set up. I scored a mid size suv cargo caddy for the back. Had to trim about 1" from the rear upper corner. Added 3/4" plywood to replace the 1/2" particle board that came on the top of it. Now everything is locked and secured with a flat storage space. Pics to come.
